Hi my name is Chell Garcia-Trias and I am a modern dance instructor in Austin, Texas and I'm going to show you how to do a gentle bounce in a hangover position in modern dance. So I'm going to stand with my feet just about an inch or two apart. I'm going to plant my feet to the ground and I'm going to reach up and over with my head to bring myself to where I am just hanging over. My knees are going to be straight just gently straight and that's about it so I'm going to reach up and over and I am going to come all the way down to a hangover position. Once I am here I am going to bend my knees and I am going to rest my upper body on my legs. I'm going to relax my head, relax my arms and I'm going to bounce, gently bounce in this position and I can bounce side to side a little bit and what I am doing is I am shaking out the muscles in my back. I can really feel my back muscles releasing. It feels really nice. I am just relaxing my arms and letting them rest on the floor. When this gets to be too much I will stand with straight legs again and I will just hang. I will take a little break and then I might do it again. I am pushing through my feet to bounce and I'm feeling a big connection between my heels and my sits bones like there is a rubber band here that is gently bouncing up and down. When I come back up I'm going to come up slowly so that the blood doesn't rush out of my head too quickly. That's a great way to bounce in a hangover position in modern dance.
