Hi, my name is Chell Garcia-Trias. I'm a dance instructor in Austin Texas. And I'm going to show you a modern dance version of a runner's stretch. So, what I'm going to do, is I'm going to bring my left leg and slide it back. I'm going to bend my right leg the whole time, so that I end up in this position, where my knee is directly on top of my heel, my leg is at a right angle, and my left leg is reaching back, I'm on my toe, and I'm pushing through my heel. Now I'm really going to drop my hips here, really drop them so that I feel my hip opening up, and I'm going to just stand here. I'm going to push my hands on my knee, and I'm going to drop my shoulders, and push up with my hands. And I'm just going to stand here and take some deep breaths. With each exhale, I can feel my body getting closer to the ground. And I can feel this entire part of my body, my hip, and the side of my stomach just opening up. It should feel like a nice relaxed stretch. So that- and to come back up, I'm just going to stand back up on my leg. That is a runner's stretch in the modern dance style.
