How to Play Greensleeves on a Classical Guitar

Hi my name is John Armstrong with expertvillage.com I'm a professional guitar instructor and today we are going to be discussing beginning classical guitar. Next I like to discuss the piece Green Sleeves which is a piece by a anonymous composer that is a good example of dotted quarter note rhythms in 3,4 time. Also it deals with a lot of sharp, sharp notes we have a lot of G sharps and F sharps in this note and eventually we are going to work or way up to where we could play this is 2 and 3 note chords. For now we are just going to start off playing just the top line the melody line. Just to get a feel for that for the most important aspect of the piece. We do have a pick up note a note coming in on beat 3 so make sure you get that. I will play it for you 1,2,3,1,2,3,1,2, and 3,1,2,3,1,2,3.
