Hi my name is John Armstrong with expertvillage.com I'm a professional guitar instructor and today we are going to be discussing beginning classical guitar. Next I will like to work on a piece called Malaguena classic Spanish piece one of the most popular pieces for classical guitar. Very similar to the Spanish study that we just previously did something that you may notice different about this one is the sharp. You see the sharp symbol in front of the 1st G note, the 3rd note in the 1st measure. What that sharp does what a sharp does is it raises it another half step or one fret. So the G note which normally played as a open string would now be played in the 1st fret. 1 fret or a half step higher. Notice that you see the G note in it is refer to as a accidental you would see it in measure 1, measures 2, measure 3 you don't see, measure 4 when you see the G note there is back to being a actual. That accidental the G sharp note is canceled out automatically when we go to the next measure. If you want to play it if it the composer wants it to be G sharp again you have to write in there. So for example starting in the beginning in 3,4 time we are using 8th notes, once again using the P and M fingers just like we did in the Spanish study the 1st measure is. 2nd measure. 3rd. G natural. Again that 1st section.
