Set Up for Abalone
Hello! My name is Melissa Shank and on behalf of expertvillage.com, today we are talking about some basic tips for playing the game Abalone. So let's get started. We've talked about the object of the game is of course to eject 6 marbles, 6 of your opponent's marbles and therefore you are going to win. Now we have to talk about the set up of the game. How do we set this board up? So let's get started. Let's go right down into the box and dig right in. So on the box of course it says like no other game you've ever made or played before. It truly is that. You will see that once we get into this game but we have a hexagonal board and some marbles. It is very simple. Each player has 14 marbles; either black or white. So we set up the board like this and we put our marbles in a row all of them in a row here. Two rows and our final row is centered with 3 in the center and 2 spaces on either side. We do that for both sets of pieces or marbles, the black and the white and this is how we are going to set up the board and we will get into various plays and how many marbles you can move, and all the different rules and regulations, some Abalone terminology as well later on. First we of course, have to get our board set up. So now we are set up and ready to go, black and white and black goes first we want to roll the dice to see who rolled a dice so get any dice from any other game you might have but roll the dice and see who goes first and the first player will of course be black.
