Belly Dance: Left Foot Travel Rocking Undulations With L Arms

Hi I'm Johanna and this is Karen, and we're here from Hip Expressions Belly Dance studio in St. Petersburg Florida; let's work on our rocking undulation traveling to the left side. That means our left foot's going to be leading and we're going to add L arms to that. So my left foot is forward; just slightly forward, keep the feet under you and the right foot is back; from our right, from our left foot to our right foot; good. So as we travel to the left we're going to step out with the left and then back with the right, and then our arm is going to point in the direction we're headed; so now let's cross back over, left foot forward and we're going to put the right arm out; shoulder level keep your shoulder blade pulling down your back so it's not here, good and as you switch directions we're going to go the other way; the other arm is going to stay up nice and high above you, good again keep your shoulder blade down; excellent and as we switch nice and slow keep it smooth, good; left right, left right; left right, left; let's try it a little faster and left right, left right; left right, good. Keep the weight on the balls of your feet and try not to do any level change with this so you get a nice smooth movement; good. Practice that in front of a mirror until you're floating across the dance floor.
