Belly Dance: Advanced Rocking Undulation Turns With Sloping Arms

Hi, I'm Johanna, and this is Karen. And we're here from Hip Expressions Belly Dance Studio in St. Petersburg Florida. Lets take our rocking undulation, turn it in a circle in our advance drill. So we're going to do 8 counts one way, 8 counts the other way, and 4 counts and 4 counts, and change the arms with that to a nice slopping arm. So the arms is going go be down in the direction we're turning, and pull that shoulder down a little bit so you have that implied 3 dimensional action going on. So this arm is going to reach down, this arm is going to reach straight up, traveling to the right. Ready? 5,6,7,8. And 1,2,3,4,5,6,7, switch the arms; 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8; 4; 1,2,3,4; 1,2,3 and again. Good. Keep that shoulder down. Don't forget your transition, roll down; 1,2,3,4,5,6, every four; 1,2,3,4; 1,2,3. Good, excellent. So drill that over, and over again. Get it nice and smooth. Arms should flow very nicely and smoothly along with your movement. And then you can take it out on the dance floor.
