Professional Comedian Pros & Cons

What are the pros and cons of being a comedian? I think about this question every day of my life. The pros: I get to write my own schedule, I get to pursue my dream, and I get to make people laugh and I get to share experiences with people. One time I did a show and this woman came up to me after the show and made me feel so good because she said I had one of the worst weeks ever, just went through a divorce and I want to thank you for your comedy show because you made me laugh so hard and you made me feel much better. That is one of the most touching things anyone has ever said to me after a comedy show and things like that make every con worth it but the cons are: you have to travel, sometimes your personal life may suffer, sometimes you may have people in your life who don't believe in what you do, sometimes you may not be able to get shows, sometimes you may have dry spells, sometimes you may have a lot of adversaries that come with life. But then again anything in life worth having is worth the work so if you believe in yourself any pro outweighs any con in my personal opinion, it is always worth it in the end. Another pro, another con of comedy which can turn into a pro is finding that first big break, getting in the comedy club and performing on stage and getting the club owner to actually book you and that can be a con because it is hard to get the promoter's on the phone. But again with persistence, time and dedication there is nothing that you can't do but believing in yourself and confidence is the first two letters of comedy and co is the first two letters of comedy and co is the first two letters in confidence. I don't know what that means but somehow it ties together and really, doesn't make any sense but comedy doesn't make any sense so do it and I do it so you do it. Do it and suffer, do it!
