Proper Seating Position for Classical Guitar

Hi my name is John Armstrong with expertvillage.com I'm a professional guitar instructor and today we are going to be discussing beginning classical guitar. Next I like to discuss proper sitting position when playing classical guitar. It is important in order to play the instrument correctly that you sit in the traditional manner where we put our foot up on a foot stool which allows us to lift our left leg up. The guitar would rest on the left leg and the neck would be angle roughly towards the nut of the guitar the nut of the neck is about level with your eyes. The right hand drapes over and sits above the sound hole kind of at the bottom of the sound hole. The left hand behind the neck of the guitar with the fingers curled out in front. This allows for the vibration of string not to be interfere by the fingers.
