"The Manhattan" Move for Beginning Tap Dancing

Hi! Thanks for joining me here at expertvillage.com. My name is Connie Hale. Today, we’re working on some tap moves, and we’re going to do something that’s a little more intermediate today. Not an intermediate tap, we’re not necessarily a beginner; it’s what’s called an Manhattan. I’m going to demonstrate it first, and then we’ll break it down for you. Alright, what did I just do? Let’s say it first. F-lap, drop, drop, brush, drop, hit, drop. Lot of drops in there. F-lap, drop, drop, brush, drop, hit, drop, f-lap, drop, drop, brush, drop, hit, drop. Alright, let’s break that down. Here we go, starting with you right foot let’s F-lap, drop, drop, switch the feet, drop, drop, brush, drop, hit, drop. Alright, let’s break that down again. F-lap, drop, drop, brush, drop, hit, drop, f-lap, drop, drop, brush, drop, hit, drop. I’m going to go ahead and turn around so you can follow me. F-lap, drop, drop, brush, drop, hit, drop, f-lap, drop, drop, brush, drop, hit, drop. A lot of weight transfer. F-lap, drop, drop, brush, drop, hit, drop, f-lap, drop, drop, brush, drop, hit, drop. Let’s face that to the side. F-lap, drop, drop, brush, drop, hit, drop, f-lap, drop, drop, brush, drop, hit, drop. Again, this is called a Manhattan. If you can’t say it you can’t do it. F-lap, drop, drop, brush, drop, hit, drop. Let’s bring that up to speed so you can hear the actual sounds. You can also do that in a circle traveling, and it would look like this. Moving in a circle. Alright, thanks for learning a Manhattan.
