One of the tricks that you need to learn before you do a front-side tail slide is you should be comfortable doing front-side fifty-fifty grinds on the ledge that you are attempting the tail slide. The motion is very similar because you are getting above it and you are turning front-side, grinding and then front-side ollieing back off from the obstacle. So it is very similar foot position and body position. The only difference is when you do a front side tail slide, you just slightly more twisted with your body, to get the ninety degrees and as you when you ollie into a fifty-fifty grind, you are still headed straight. So it is very similar but definitely when you are warming up on a ledge, it is better to front side fifty-fifty it a few times to get the feeling of being able to ollie on top, ride on top and grind, and come off. Another reason for front side fifty-fifty on a ledge before tail sliding it, is that you can learn how much the ledge grinds or slides. This is going to be a big important factor in the tail slide because it is very easy to slide out and it is also very easy to stick on a front-side tail slide. So by fifty-fiftying it a few times what you will do is be able to judge how well the ledge is going to slide when you are ready to do the front side tail slide.
