Mazda 626 Water Pump Replacement: Removing Water Pump

Hello, my name is Jeff Fiffie. Today I'll be showing you how to remove and replace a water pump on a Mazda 626. Let's try it again with our fingers. Ok. Ok, this bolt's pretty long but it's coming out. Ok. This is our lore motor mount bracket that bolts to the engine block. Let's sit it back out of the way. No we've got a clear view of it. Ok we're going to use an impact ratchet to make the removal of our bolts a little bit quicker. Make sure the socket's nice and snug on the 12mm bolt. Ok. We can let the bolt stay in there until we're ready to move it. Go over to the next socket, I mean the next bolt. Ok, now as we remove the bolts you can see the water coming out there. That's a good sign; that means our pump is coming loose and we're taking the loose, the correct bolts. Now you might want to put something underneath the car to catch the water: a pan or some newspaper if you don't have a pan is always sufficient, just to keep the water from going on the driveway. Taking out our last bolt. Ok, now we want to catch our bolts in our hand. We don't want to lose those. Ok.
