Mazda 626 Water Pump Replacement: Removing the Motor Mount

Hello, my name is Jeff Fiffie. Today I'll be showing you how to remove and replace a water pump, on a Mazda 626. Of course, there's going to be some components that you have to remove first, before you get to the water pump itself. The first thing, that you want to do, is disconnect the hose from the power steering pump, itself. A pair of pliers will be good for that or a vice grips. Stretch back the hose, to clamp back on the hose, then you pull the hose off of the pump. Stretch the hose back out of the way, so it doesn't get in your way. Take the pump and sit it back on top of the valve cover, that's a nice position for it. The next thing that you want to remove, is the motor mount. There is one center bolt that holds the mount and the housing together, unscrew that and just pull it right out, of the mount itself. Put your bolts up here, so you don't lose them. The next thing you want to do, is take out, unscrew the nut, right here on the mount itself, pull this mount directly out and sit it back here, on the firewall. There's a housing here, also, that holds the mount that has to come out too. Sit back here, right there on the firewall.
