Hi this is Cheryl with Expert Village. I’m going to show you how to cut a perfect wedge of lime that makes a beautiful garnish on any cocktail beverage. We’re going to start cutting the lime pole to pole, so put your knife right in the middle and you go right to the ends, so like that, so you’ve got a perfect half of lime. And then we’re going to make quarters out of that half, so cut in the middle, on the side and the other side. So each whole lime yields eight pieces and again go pole to pole, all the way through, the other side and the other side. So you have eight perfect pieces and if you want to be a little fancier you can take a little part of the white and you can just cut that off and that’s even fancier. Let’s say you’re doing bubbly water, it’s nice to do smaller pieces of lime. You can take that quarter piece and cut it again and then you want to score the middle of that, right like that, and that can rest beautifully on a beverage and there you go.
Hmmmm. Do you suppose I could apply this technique to a lemon? I hope I don't screw something up...
