How to Turn on the Power & Test a Ceiling Fan
Hi! I'm Chad Smith and I'm a State Certified Journeyman wireman; basically an electrician. I'm here today with expertvillage.com and we just finished installing this ceiling fan. Now all we have to do is go out and flip the power back on and come back in and test to make sure this thing works. Now just before you leave, you will want to make sure you have the switch shut off because you don't want this coming on when you turn the power back on. All right, so I am going to go turn the power back on. Okay, now we have the power back on and all that is left to do is test the fan. Now you will notice that this light switch here has a dual slider but in this instance, we didn't have the wire to support that. So this really only controls the fan and the light together. In a different application where you have the two wires we talked about, the red and the black, then you can control separately. The lights came on, we're good. We are successful today. I'm Chad Smith and we just finished installing this ceiling fan today.
