How to Attach Ceiling Fan Blades & Globes
Hi! I'm Chad Smith and I'm a State Certified Journeyman wireman; basically an electrician. I'm here today with expertvillage.com and we are mounting a new ceiling fan in this house. Okay so the next step is to install the blades. These are actually really easy to install. You will see that on the bracket there is two holes and how this works is there is two bolts that go into those holes. This is where you are going to need the screw gun which will make this way easier. So this part here is very easy. I just found the little tip or actually a little tip for you that makes it easier. Put your screw or your bolt on the end of your gun and just slide it right in the hole of one of the fans and just hold it up here. Now don't go all the way snug just yet because you want to put the other one in before you tighten it all the way down. If you tighten it down right now, you can't move the base of it and that makes it hard to work with. Just to shove this up in the hole and take it all the way down. There you go! So we've gone around and installed all the blades and we just have the final one to install. I'm proud of you. You've been with me through this whole thing and you've gotten the ceiling fan this far. You are going to be the envy of the neighborhood. As a matter of fact, you will have people calling you and knocking on your door and wanting you to come over and install their ceiling fan in their house. So now we are ready to put the globe in. Be careful with these globes because they are very, very fragile. If you tighten down the screws any, you will shadow this room and have to go buy a new one. So as we install these globes, it is really easy, there are three screws 1, 2 and 3 on the back, put these globes in there, kind of run it out a little bit. When you tighten these screws down, be really careful; these screws because when you go too tight on it it will shatter this globe. So just kind of finger tie them down. That's basically all it takes to install these globes. Okay so just go around and install these globes, make sure they are nice and tight, throw some light bulbs in. I use energy efficient light bulbs; whatever works for you, any light bulb will work and we basically just finished installing this ceiling fan.
