Hi! My name is Elizabeth, and on behalf of Expert Village, we’re moving forward in our series of using beads in card making. With this card we’re going to use beads strung on wire through eyelets. So I’ve already precut and assembled a card here, and now what we’re going to do is put some eyelets in here to string our wire through. So for that, I’m going to take out my eyelet setter, which I’m very fond of. I’m just going to probably put it about… I’m going to center it so that it’s about the same size as this embellishment piece. I didn’t go through both pieces of cardstock, so I’m just going recut it with the hole punch. Next, I’m just going to take 2 brushed silver eyelets, then I’m going to line this up with the hole in the eyelet. I’m going to push twice to be sure that it goes completely. Again, 1 and 2. If ever there is a rough edge and you have a hammer around, you can just pound it out a little bit. That’ll just make it a smoother edge for you. So now, we have our eyelets in there. Now what I’m going to do is take my wire, I’ll string it through on this end, and then I’m just going to string some beads on here. I have some metallic beads here, some butterflies and flowers I’m going to take out. Beads as well eyelets, come in all shapes and colors. You can get and kind. I’m just taking some out here, and I’m just going to string them on this wire. When you’re looking for beads, you can find them at craft stores, scrapbook stores—or a really great place—our bead stores, jewelry supply stores. They often have the most unique shapes and colors, and that way you can get something a little different than your traditional plain beads. We’re just going to string these on like this, and then I’m just going to open the card back up, string it back through the eyelet. I’m going to pull it so that it’s tight, and I’m just going to twist it here so that it’s tight. Then what you can do is just kind of make some curlicues, or something so that it doesn’t look quite so plain and unfinished. Just make some curlies like that. Then on the front, you’ve just got a great accent piece for your card. String the beads on the wire through the eyelet.
