Scrapbooking: Cutting Paper for a Bead Shaker Card

Hi! My name is Elizabeth and on behalf of Expert Village, we’re moving forward in our series of tips and techniques for using beads in your card making. We are moving on with creating our shaker card, so what we’re going to do now is take the 8 ½ x 11 piece of cardstock we have. We’re going to use our paper trimmer. We’re going to cut this down to make a standard size card. Now, how you do that is you’ll take your 8 ½ x 11 sheet and you’ll cut it in half so that’s 8 ½ x 5 ½. So we will do that. The next thing we’re going to do is make the center for our shaker, so we’re going to be using this sticker that says ‘bliss’ inside of our shaker. So we’re going to measure our sticker that’s going to be inside of the shaker. It measures 2 ¼ x 1. I want a good half inch on each side, so we’ll do it 2 ¾ x 1 ½. You can make your shaker as large or as small as you want. 1 ½ x 2 ¾ . Okay. Then we will also be using this plastic piece as the top of our shaker card, so I’m going to move this love sticker up and measure this the same to be 1 ½ x 2 ¾. As we do that, we’re then prepared to move forward with the rest of making this shaker card.
