I'm Dr. Joe Neely. I practice with the Barton Oaks Dental Group. We're going to talk a little bit about using Crest White Strips. You can achieve good results on your teeth, using lots of different dental products. For people who are trying to experiment, with whether they want to go through the expense of bleaching their teeth, either with Power Zoom or with custom trays. The white strips provide a good alternative for an occasional sort of bleaching product. The things that are very important with the Crest White Strips, are that they be applied very, very carefully. The second thing, this is an actual strip, but they're somewhat like this. They make the strips big enough to go from your cuspit to your cuspit, your eyetooth to your eyetooth. For most people, if that's all they bleach, they will get white front teeth with dark teeth on the side, and make everything look even funnier, so my recommendation is, if you're going to use the white strips, use two of them on top, and two on bottom, so that you cover at least your bicuspits, if not the front of your first molars, on both sides. The key to the bleaching white strip, is that it be intimate with the two, and so placing them is very, very important. Whether you start in front and work your way back, or back and work your way forward, you need a starting point, and then you need to make sure that in between your teeth, you tuck the strip in. Hold it there. Tuck the next strip in. Hold it there. Tuck it in again. Continue around to where the strip is hugging the tooth completely, rather than just riding on the very outside surface, so that you get a uniform bleach. The Crest White Strips are very cost effective for one bleaching, or for two or three bleachings, but by the time that you use them, I think it's eight times. You could have paid for custom bleaching trays, or at some point in time, Power Zoom.
