So, which tea is best to make iced? Now, iced tea is very difficult, because the tea leaves react to a colder temperature, and some of them get bitter. So I don't usually recommend using a green tea, to make iced, unless you are very meticulous about time, temperature, water, and the amount of tea leaves. But if you don't have the time and you really love iced tea, I would stick with herbal tea, fruity teas as such. Rooibas is the best tea to make iced, because you can't go wrong. You can just leave the iced, the Rooibas leaves in that brew, and just let it set and put it in the refrigerator and you've got a fresh cup of iced tea all the time. It won't loose any flavor. When you're making a black tea, cause we're, we're down in southern Florida, and we love our sweet tea, so most of it is made with black tea leaves. There are a variety of blacks. The one from Assum, there's one from Nagri Sri Lanka, there's some from China. The Sri Lankan and the Nagri black teas, make sure to ask for from those countries, is that these teas, do not have the maltiness, and these teas also, don't have a creamy, like if you make a, a cup of black tea, you'll, you might see some coloring in it, it's a bit cloudy. These tea make a very clear, brisk, cup of iced tea. I also recommend Nagri or Ceylon when you're making iced tea, and Rooibas if you don't want to fuss around with water temperature and such. And one other tip, that people always forget, when you're making an iced tea, with black tea leaves, use a lower temperature. When you're making a hot cup of black tea, boiling water is the way to go, but for iced tea, use below boiling. For a black tea, when I make it, I can use about one ninety to one eighty five, and it takes away all the astringency from my cup of iced tea.
