Stripping-In Fly Fishing Technique
As what I was saying we want to make sure that we have the proper casting the back cast and the forward cast. Very very important that you work on that and you really manage it and learn to cast. You become a more proficient caster. You got to make sure that you pull your line up and stop and hesitate. It is so important that you understand that the line has to make its loop. If it doesn't you are going to have knot, all kinds of problems so make sure that you practice that and make sure you practice your forward cast when you put in the water. Make sure extended your line out and your arm out so that your bug goes where you want it. The tip of the line or the tip of your rod should be exactly where you want your bug to land and you follow that bug. So when you have access line in the water as it is floating down to the current you do what we called stripping in and what that is going to do is keep the line somewhat tight. So if when it does hit you can sucked the hook by pulling down on your line and lifting up on the tip of your rod. So lets go really quick back cast, forward, back,forward we are going to extend out and try to get out little further. Extend out. There we go. Now you do your mending there. You strip in, now with some hoppers and streamers you want to get some movement to make it look like it is moving in the water. Create some movement for the fish to see.
