How to Cast: Basic Fly Fishing Casting Technique
Alright ladies and gentlemen what we are going to start off with is the basic techniques of casting. If you are right handed obviously you are going to hold the rod in your right hand. Such if you shaking someones hand. So when you grab on to the rod you grab on like you are shaking someones hand. Okay! Your left hand is your control hand. Right hand is a casting hand. Alright and we are going to show you in just a few minutes on how that works and why this called this. Something goes for left handed fishermen. If you are a left handed fisherman something goes just like you are shaking someones hand that is your casting hand. Your right hand is your control hand. I'm right handed so that is were we are going to fish today. Alright now what we what to do here is again what I said early is we need to put the bug out in the water and make it presentable and as real as possible. What we are trying to do is get the fish to believe that this is a live bug that just came up from shedding it shell. Make a good appetizer for the fish. The way you do that is the presentation of your casting ability and also the presentation of the drift of your fly as it is floating through the water. Whether it is really rough water as we have up river here or it is really calm water that you see here behind me.
