I have found this very helpful, going to fish a local river in Fresno, California the San Joaquin river for trout. I am a novice bass fisherman switching to trout waters for the winter. Thanks

Fly Fishing Equipment: What You Will Need to Fly Fish

Good afternoon I want to introduce my self my name is Dan Janster. Currently standing next to a beautiful pond at The Aspen Brook Inn this place is a very good location for fishing who are just getting into the sport of fly fishing. From the young children to the older kids and to adults. What we are going to do here is start off with basics of fly fishing and the type of equipment that you need. We are not going to get to technical for you these is basically for beginners. Teach you the equipment and basically to teach you to catch some fish. I would like to say I am a Orvis endorsed certified guide and I have my training in Livingston,Mt. And a was a professional guide for 3 years over the western slops in? Colorado. Also a the Aspen Brook Inn what you would see here continuing on with this program you see the wonderful fishing that we would experience. Okay lets get started and I think the best way to get started is by looking at our equipment and what type of equipment you will need. My fly fishing is a little different then your bait fishing and your lure fishing. I am sure everybody probably knows that but if not there is a difference. Fly fishing is basically more challenging to a certain degree. You are trying to present something that is artificial to coach the fish to believing that it is real. It takes time and patient and it takes a lot of practice. But, once you get the handle of it and figure it how to present your flies to the fish it is very very exciting, it is very very relaxing and it is something that the whole family could get involved in.
