What Tea Plant Parts are Used?

So, now we know that tea, comes from the tea plant, also known as the Camellia sinensis. Now, the tea plant, all the teas come from the tea plant, but different parts of the tea, is used to produce different types of tea. If you look at the tea plant here, this is a picture of the top part of the tea plant. Now, that part is usually only made and saved, to make white tea and green tea, or very, very, very high quality black tea. If you are getting tea that is loose leaf, try to find tea vendors, that are selling you teas from the top part of the tea plant. Why? Because like any other plant on earth, the upper part of that tea plant, contains ninety percent of the health benefits of tea. The lower leaves are now left over without nutrients, and they wither away, and fall off the plant. If you buy tea from tea bags, those lower leaf teas are what's used to put in your tea, and you're drinking something that has almost no nutritious value, maybe a lot of fluoride, but that's another conversation. Now, loose leaf tea, make sure to buy the top part of the tea plant.
