On behalf of expertvillage.com, my name is Eileen Duffey and I am here in Silva, New York and today we are going to talk about fabrics. The second piece of fabric today is silk satin, which I absolutely adore. This beautiful silk satin is a light weight satin. It can be used for dresses or skirts. Actually the dress I have on right now is a silk satin. It is a 100 percent silk and will probably run around $25.00 a yard. It comes in different weights. Cut on the bias is a wonderful way to make a dress. You can get a beautiful shape when you cut on the bias. You can find it pretty much anywhere but especially in the garment district satin is a very common fabric that you use for spring.
