When lubing your chain you need to lift your rear bike off the ground, just like it is on this stand, race stand. The best way to do it is by using a manufacture suggested lube or something that's pretty tacky so it will stick to your chain as your chains going around at a high rate of speed. The best way to do it is to use a red shop rag, get a specified lube and you can usually rest the red rag somewhere on the frame of your bike, or the plastic of your bike so you're not soaking your bike with chain lube. And then make sure your fingers are free and clear out of the way of the sprocket, and just proceed to turn the tire as your lube the chain. Make sure you go all the way around two times doesn't hurt, because premature wear and tear will happen to your chain if it is not properly lubed and adjusted.
