Rod McMahon for Expert Village generally uses for a sawzall is demolition or you could use it for cutting floors, you could get pretty precise once you have gotten use to it. Develop a little skill with it. As rough as it looks you could actually do some pretty fine work if you got a little finesse with your touch. If you are cutting working on a old house you are removing a wall you be cutting the studs out very easy with this. Just cut along the bottom of the stud and kick it out and move on to the next one you can put in a new window. If you wanted to put a window in this door for example you just cut out the rough opening with the sawzall and stick that window in. It is also good for cut that a circular saw is not big enough to cut for example if you're cutting a triple 2x12 header you can get the cuts started with the circular saw then take your sawzall put it in the curve cut it the rest of the way letting the circular saw curve guide you. Primarily its good for cutting just about anything metal, wood, pvc pipe, and just about anything you could imagine. You could cut a car into pieces with one of these things. In fact they are used for getting car crash victims out of crush vehicles when doors won't open along with other tools like the jaws of life and things such as that.
