How to Adjust the Blade on a Table Saw
I’m Rob McMahon for Expert Village. I’m going to talk about adjusting the blade for height and for beveled cuts. This is the height adjustment here. It’s a nice easy hand crank. A lot better than this older hand knob that really can get to you after a whole day of using it. To adjust the angle, there’s a lever here. You tilt it, and once you have it calibrated, you can set it to whatever angle you need. One of the most common angles is 45, obviously, and 22 ½. We’re going to do a beveled cut, 22 ½. I’m going to turn our vacuum for dust control this time. Now, one of the things that you want to try to do when you’re making a beveled cut like this is to have the blade tilted away from the fence. When you have the blade tilted toward the fence, a board, especially a warped board, can get caught up in there and it’ll either jam and strain your motor, or it can kick back and hit you pretty hard in the belly. So always try and keep your fence on the opposite side of where your blade is beveled.
