Digital Camera Zooming

Okay. What we're going to do now is, we're going to zoom in, and zoom out to show you, the capability of the zoom. And you'll see right here, as you're doing it, it will only stay on the screen for a second after I do it. How many "X" zoom it is, and where you are on the wide angle and telephoto part. It also tells you, your focus range, which is 6.57 feet to infinity, in this particular telephoto mode. This has got a 18X zoom, which is equivalent to a twenty-eight to five hundred and fifty millimeter lens on a film camera. If you were to push this button here, that says menu on it. It would allow you to change your exposure value by going to the right or to the left. And you'll see on the screen, you know what it does. And what exposure value is important, is if you have spotlighting on some foreground stuff. It will change the whole exposure value and allow you to get the exposure value that you want. And if you have backlighting, let's say you've got a subject there, and then light is coming towards you from behind the subject. You could adjust, and be able to see what it's going to look like with a different exposure value. This is very important. Most consumer cameras, prosumer, and digital SLR's have this exposure value and it's really good to have.
