Power Tool Electrical Safety

Hi! This is Jon on behalf of expertvillage.com. In this video clip I’ll be talking about electrical safety. If you are using a corded electric screwdriver, you want to take a look at the plug end—this one has three prongs on it—and you want to make sure that that third prong is on. If it isn’t, it will definitely need to be repaired. You want to make sure where you are working it is not wet, or there’s no snow, or there’s type of moisture that could cause an electric shock. And you always want to make sure that before you do any type of work, you take a look at the cord make sure there’s no tears or breaks or cracks in the cord; if there is you definitely want to make sure you replace that immediately. Also if your cord is not long enough and you need to use any type of an extension cord, you want to make sure to use one of a suitable rating, so that it will not cause any electrical problems.
