I get all my rodents from feeder tanks, except hamsters. The only problem with feeder animals is that they aren't socialized and they can have a lot of health issues, and unless your petstore seperates males and females, fi you choose a female, you could end up with a lot of babies. I liek to get them from a feeder tank, because even though there aren't any rodent rescues around my area, I can feel as if I am saving his life, which I really am, because if I hadn't have picked him or her out, the next person to look at him or her could be feeding him or her to their pet snake, so I really am saving it's life, It makes me feel a lot better about owning it. Even if it does die early from a condition it has from being produced poorly, I know that in it's short life, I gave it a whole heck of a better life than it would have had without me.

Where to Get a Pet Mouse

Hi! My name is Sarah, I’m at Petland in Pembroke Pines, Florida tonight and on behalf of expertvillage.com, I’m going to speak with you a little bit about caring for mice. When you are considering getting a mouse there are several different places you can look to get one. You can go to your local pet store. They will sometimes have albino mice, different breeds of fancy mice. It really just depends from pet store to pet store what kind of mice they have. You can also check with local exotic animal hospitals, they may know of small mammal rescue organizations that have mice for adoption. You can also check with your local…Sometimes there will be mouse fanciers associations in your area. You can also go to the humane society, they may have some or they may know of rescue organizations in your area that have mice that need a good home. No matter where you decide to get your mouse from, you want to make sure it is healthy when you get it, and we’ll go over what to look for in a healthy mouse in the next clip.
