Pet Ferret Vaccinations
Hi! My name is Fran Friedman and I'm with Morning Star Animal Sanctuary and I am here to talk about rabies vaccinations on behalf of expertvillage.com. Your ferret does have to have vaccinations on a yearly basis. Unlike some dogs and cats they can get them once, twice and every 3 years. Your ferret should be vaccinated by your vet for Rabies every year. All of our ferrets at Morning Star Animal Sanctuary have their babies vaccinated just to protect from humans in case they do get a little nibbly and someone gets bit. Always when your ferret is going for a rabies vaccination from your vet, make sure you are going to be home that day. Do not take your ferret to the vet for its rabies shot and then come home, leave it and go to work. It is very important that you watch and make sure that they are not having a bad reaction to the shot. They are very sensitive to vaccines as any animal is and it is always good to have a day where you are going to get the shot, come home and they may not want to play a lot, they may want to sleep but definitely you will be there in case something happens so you could get them back to the vet in time.
