What are the benefits for my dog? When you get your dog involved with agility, it's another opportunity to work their mind and their body. Dogs that don't have a job, generally, become destructive in the home and are not balanced. Agility offers an opportunity to work your dog mentally and physically, therefore, keeping them balanced. It also keeps them in shape and it keeps them out of destructive behavior mode. I also say it benefits the owner, as well, keeping them on a regimented schedule and creating a better bond with their dog. Many of my customers I show up and they rarely walk their dog or have any involvement with them, besides feeding them or the occasional fetch. Dogs inherently want to be led by a leader, so agility is a good bonding opportunity to keep your dog grounded and show them who the boss is. It also will keep them out of destruction and boredom, resulting in a overall better balanced dog.
