What is Dog Agility

Hello, my name is Mark Siebel, owner and lead trainer with Doggie Steps Dog Training, in Phoenix, Arizona. Today I'm going to be talking about dog agility, and dog tricks. What is dog dog agility? Dog agility developed in the United States approximately in the 1970's. Even though it's only forty years old, dog agility has been competing throughout different states with many breeds of dogs. The basis of dog agility is sending dogs through a structured course of obstacles, competing on time and technique. If a dog maneuvers and hits any obstacle, points will be deducted from a total score amongst all competing dogs. Dog agility has anywhere between seven and fourteen obstacles, ranging in different heights, strategy, and challenges. So to sum up, dog agility has been in existence since the early 1970's, and is a combination of different events, and challenge obstacles for your dog.
