Using Windows XP Downloads Folder

Hey there. This is Gerard Mainardi showing you how to organize your My Documents folder in Microsoft Windows XP. I'm not affiliated with Microsoft, and Microsoft Windows XP is a trademark for Microsoft Corporation. Now today we're going to be using Firefox, of which I am not affiliated with. Firefox is a really good browser and an alternative to Internet Explorer. You may well be using it yourself right now. I'm going to assume that you are. It's the best browser on the market. Now what we're going to do here is set up a Downloads folder like we did last time and then put all of our documents to go into it. Now if you go up to Start here, go to My Documents. Hopefully you've already set up a Downloads folder for yourself like this. If not, right-click, go to New, go to Folder, and type in the name of your Downloads folder here. You're going to close this and open up Firefox now. Firefox and Internet Explorer work a lot alike. What we're going to do, go up to Tools, and at the bottom, go down here to Options. Now all the tabs across the top, the far left one is Main. You click on Main, you see the Downloads section here, there's a button, Save Files To. Select that, and then go hit Browse. Now this opens up a window where we can navigate into the new Downloads folder that we just made. You can open up My Documents at the top, scroll down till you find your Downloads, open that up, choose the Firefox folder that I've made inside of that, hit Ok, say Ok, and then you're all set. This way, all of the downloads from that program are going to be funneled directly into this folder. No matter what you get, be it pictures, be it movies, be it programs you want to install, you're always going to know exactly where to find it.
