Skateboard Tricks: Straight Bar Boardslide Common Mistakes

Some of the common mistakes you may experience while learning how to boardslide a flat bar or a railing is that you are not able to ollie up on top of it and get over it enough. This just means that you need to learn to ollie higher or you need to find a rail that is a little bit lower so that you can get into it and learn this trick. If you start to find that you hit your wheels on your way up or that you are just not able to get all the way on top and you are about here maybe you should pick another flat bar or rail to work with or wait until you can ollie high enough and be able to boardslide it. The other problem you may experience is once you have ollied into the boardslide, remember you want to slide at 90 degrees. This is going to make it easier for you to get off and it is also the proper direction to be headed in. So if you ever get into boardslide and you are crooked like this, it is wrong. What you want to do is slide 90 degrees. So remember when you get into it force the board to go 90 degrees and this is the way that you'll get the best slide. The other reason you want to slide 90 degrees is because you will be able to see where you are going and your shoulders will head in that direction and your body and your feet are planted this way and you travel forward. So the other problem you may experience is that after you have gone to the end of your boardslide, you find it hard to get out and able to roll away. There is going to be a little bit of air time after getting to the end of the boardslide and you are going to have to make your board go out 90 degrees to get back into the rolling position and able to roll straight away.
