Microphones to Use in Music Production
Hi! My name is Larry Hammel, singer, songwriter, engineer and producer of Deep Waves Studio here in New York City and on behalf of Expert Village, I would like to welcome you to how to produce a recording artist. I have set up here an array of microphones that will be used by Leona. From her voice, she did a little a capella earlier and I got kind of like an idea of the kind of microphones I want to use on her, but it is still important because you never know deep inside the vocalist voice where exactly they are going to have certain residences or sounds that you may need a certain microphone to either bring down or bring up for enhancement. We have here a E47 which is like an old Neumann. I have here a Brauna Claus Hyuna is one of the greatest microphones in the world. This is a blue Ki-Wi and I have over here a Hyle PR40. There are all different but they are all the same in certain effects that they are high quality microphones which you want to use. Microphone shootout is extremely important to determine the best microphone for a vocalist and obviously you are going to later on down the road go to a pre-amp and a compressor. This is your first step and your most critical step in getting a great vocal.
