The Slingshot Card Trick
I’m Joe Marshall with expertvillage.com, and today we’re going to discuss flourishes. This is another boomerang type of move that you can use; it’s broken into 2 steps. Your middle finger and thumb grab the top portion of the packet off. What’s happening over here is it appears that a card will shoot out of this packet and really you’re just peeling it off the back. Your first finger is pulling down like so, giving it a little torque in the card it’s going to kind of push off to the side so the card will actually fly out. You just want to practice doing that. Once you do that, you want to actually practice being able to catch the card as they come out. A way to make it look fancier is to only take off a small portion of it, do a Charlie hold it in a get ready position to catch the card. As you peel it off, you just catch the card in the packet.
