Writing Down Goals for Success

Now you've thought about your goals. Now we're going to write them down. Now again, I want you to think in two columns. First short term, the goals for the moment, the goals for the day, the goals for the week. Maybe your goal is to get the laundry done on time or get the groceries done. Whatever it is, write down your short term goals. And this will be different for everyone. My short term goal might be to get something executed within the next two weeks. Your short term goal might be in the next ten minutes. Also in the next column, I want you to write down your long term goals, those global goals. I want to finish college. I want to get a PhD. I want to make a lot of money. Be specific. As you're writing them down be specific. Don't just put "I want a good job." You want a good job doing what? You have to be specific. Write down your short term and your long term goals. There's one more step. You must then share them with someone, someone that you like, someone that you trust. Tell them what your goals are. More than anything, this puts the information out into the universe. But is also creates some accountability. I have told someone that this is what I want. On some level they could be holding me accountable for it.
