The Pharaoh Shuffle for Playing Card Shuffling

I'm Joe Marshall with expertvillage.com and today we are going to discuss shuffles and cuts. One more shuffle that is similar to the weave or the butting shuffle is known as a pharaoh shuffle and this has had a long history with magicians. A pharaoh shuffle is held the same exact way as you would to get into a weave shuffle, fingers are on the bottom thumb on the top. First finger splits the top portion and the two halves and pushes it out the back which is pushing down. Your other hand comes across and grabs it, only this time instead of the two halves being out on their own your first finger is going to come in and position the two halves together and as you do the shuffle you are going to turn the corner and use the corner as pressure when you are feeding in like so. It is hard to do slow but in normal motion I will show it to you what it looks like. This is a pharaoh shuffle and you could come across and just do a water fall. So to get into it you split, pull it back and as long as the two halves meet perfect your finger is on top to guide it. You apply a little pressure the cards would automatically split themselves into this type of position. It is a lot easier and faster if you are just at one of your favorite games to do a pharaoh shuffle like this instead of getting into the whole table action of weaving and riffling the cards and dovetailing them to just do a couple of pharaoh shuffles like so. It is just as easy and it looks better and you get better spacing of the cards when you pharaoh shuffle it is all pressure they just come together like so. When you separate the pack perfectly down the middle 26x26 and shuffle them 8 times in a row perfect, it resets the back it resets the deck back to normal order when you bought in from the store. All the suits and all the numbers are in numerical value, it is known as a pharaoh shuffle.
