Casting Spells in "Magic the Gathering"

Once you've put your land for the turn in to play you're allowed to use it to cast spells by tapping it for manna. The way that this works is you announce that you're casting a spell. In this case the creature called the sun tailed hawk. You turn the land ninety degrees to the side to show that its been used for the turn. This adds one white manna to your manna pool. The white manna matches the cost in the top right corner of the card. This allows you to play the spell. Because it's a creature it goes out on the table in front of you to show that it is now in play rather than in your hand. You can use it during future turns to deal damage to your opponent reducing their score, hopefully to zero and winning you the game.
