I'm Joe Marshall with expertvillage.com and today we are going to discuss shuffles and cuts. This cut you want to do, if you don't have a table you are out at the party performing tricks for people and you are not going to want to use this type of cut you can add a little finesse to make look a little bit more fancy as a little professionalism to what you are doing, it's a pivot cut. Where you would hold the deck middle finger on top corner, thumb on the bottom as usual as all the one handed cuts start out. In this case you first finger of your other hand is going to come back and touch the back corner of the deck. It is going to pick up and pivot off a portion, placing in the hand and this one will come on top. So in fast speed it just looks like this. It is a fancy way to give a deck a cut, it adds a little finesse to it. What happens is when this finger comes to the back and touches this corner it is applying pressure at the other corner. This finger is the finger that it would actually pivot around completely in a 180 degree motion. It would pivot around and you should be able to have enough pressure to where you can pivot from the back and just relie on these two fingers to hold that packet of cards. It is dropped in the hand and the deck is delivered on top just like so. So one handed pivot cut actually it is just a pivot cut. I'm sorry. It just looks like that so in fast motion this is the fancy way cut. But, remember to have your fingers set up at the corner from thumb on the bottom because when this first fingers comes around to grab a packet it is going to need to pivot around it and drop. It is a real nice cut it makes you look that much more professional, go ahead and give it a shot.
