First Impressions During a Beauty Pageant
Hello I’m Erica Saylors and this is my assistant model, Ashley Charlton. And I’m here to talk about the importance of the pageant arrival. If you’re a contestant and you’re first coming to a pageant to meet the other contestants and the director of the pageant it is very important to conduct yourself accordingly first impressions are vital. Ashley is going to come up to me and meet me for the first time. Hi Ashley how are you? Good, how are you? What are you here for? Um, I’m here for the pageant. First thing, she came up and she was looking down, very shy, if you’re going to make a good impression in front of other contestants and especially if you’re meeting the director for the first time, make sure you keep your head up, keep good eye contact, so as not to be intimidated by the other person. After all, you’re in competition with that person, you want to show that you have just as much chance to win this pageant as they do. Ashley go back to the door and come and introduce yourself to me again for the first time. Hi I’m Ashley Charlton. Hi I’m Erica Saylors. Nice to meet you. Very nice to meet you. What are you here for? I’m here to be in this pageant, I’m very excited, I can’t wait. What about you? That’s wonderful, my platform is alcoholism, what’s yours? Mine is volunteerism. Great. See how Ashley showed confidence, she kept eye contact with me, she was smiling and she let me know that she was ready for this pageant. That’s what you need to do when you’re first meeting people at the pageant.
