How to Install Printer Drivers From a Disc

Hi! This is Zak with Expert Village and today I’m going to talk to you about installing drivers for your printer. Most printer manufacturers give you drivers on a CD when you buy your printer along with instructions on how to use them. Basic instructions are to insert the CD into your system. Once you do the CD’s icon will appear on your desktop. Double click the CD’s icon to open the folder. Inside you’ll see an Mac disk image icon. Usually these end with .dmg and have a picture of a little hard drive on a white document. Double click this and it will mount a virtual folder onto your desktop. When you see this folder, you can double click it to open it and there’s usually an installer package and the base of that folder along with various documentation files and different languages such as German, English, French, Spanish and others. So to launch the printers installation, simply double click the package icon in the folder and it will begin the setup and the installation process. Follow the instructions for setting up your printer and you’ll be ready to print.
