Overcoming The Front Choke for Women's Self-Defense
Hi! Steve Jimenez with fitandfearless.com, Krav Maga, Austin, here with Marissa Esquivel. In this segment, we are going to deal with choke from the front, against the wall. In this scenario, one of the most key, one of the most important parts of this scenario is the fall break. If someone is actually pushing you against the wall, you don’t want your head to bang up against the wall, so you actually want to keep your chin down, and your hands actually hit the car or the wall… to ground, to absorb some of the impact. And then from here, she is going to take her right hand, drive it down, left hand up. When she goes up, with her left hand she is going to actually try to—come right back. When she comes back with the left hand, she has to drop this shoulder all the way down, pinning this hand in between her arm and her chin. From here she is going to drop all down, and then from there combatives. Elbows, elbows, knees, and then push away.

Stand straight up, squeeze, turn. Left arm straight out. She is pinning the hand right here. She is going to apply leverage to the wrist, which actually opens up the choke so she is no longer being choked. Go back. You need to drop that shoulder. Reach down, literally like this. From there, she’s actually got her shoulder nice and tight, pinning my hand up in there, applying pressure, leverage on the wrist, actually opening up the choke. From there, she drives her elbow down, clearing the hands. Notice what her hands are doing. She’s got them with the other hand. She’s got them trapped. From there, notice how when she is driving her elbows, she is holding on to these hands so I can’t defend this. Okay, so she’s there, and my face is free for her to hit, elbow, elbow, and she can finish off with a stronger elbow, coming with the strong side, and knees. And then pushing off to disengage.
