The taut line hitch is a good example of a knot that just has a ton of applications. Like I mentioned before it's great for tying your tent stays and to keep them tight to where you don't have to worry about it slipping or, you know, your tent collapsing on you in the middle of the night, and as I showed you before, it's also useful in bringing things up trees, but another use for it is if you have a tarp that you want to tie to create like some sort of covering or like a windshield. To do that you would, you know, find a place in the wild where there's some trees that you can tie your tarp to and the taut line is useful for this because you don't have to find trees that are perfectly the same size as your tarp. Anyway, the taut line is a knot that I would really encourage you to learn because it has a great number of uses and it's also a fairly simple knot and it never binds up. It's not really difficult to untie and it's just an all around great knot.
