Various Textures to Make with a Trowel for Faux Painting your Walls
There are different kinds of textures in all the homes. I would say, guessing, about five to eight different types of textures on the wall. This particular texture is called a trowel drag. It’s a very smooth texture and it really is nice for creating this old look. There are also different types like Monterey drag, and a heavier, thicker trowel drag. And all different ones take the glazing, or the fauxing much different. So when you start to faux, your texture might be a little bit different than someone else’s. All these faux techniques that I’m going to show you today are basically the same thing. However, your texture is going to determine how it’s going to come out. So it’s very fascinating to see how your results are going to be depending on the texture. You can get some really cool stuff. So once you get this, it shouldn’t be intimidating at all. With a flat wall, or with a very heavily, thick textured wall, you’re going to get some cool effects.
