Defense Against a Bear Hug From Behind for Women

Hi! I’m Steve Jimenez with fitandfearless.com, Krav Maga, Austin, Texas with Marissa Esquivel. Now coming in with the bear hug from behind, now from here she bases out; this is a different technique that she can use from this same scenario, arms free. She is actually trapping my hands down to her body. With her right hand, she is going to rap, we call it rapping the top of my hands, hitting the metacarpal bones. Rapping the top with these knuckles right here. If she does it hard enough, my hands will actually loosen their grip. Coming straight down, from here, when that grip opens up, she’s going to look for the index finger. She actually cups it, palm up, jamming the finger back into its socket, and then from there she’s going to pull it, turn it out; and she is going to step around and out, curling out to the finger and the wrist. From here she actually can control me. If she takes a few steps back, driving my hand to the ground, it will actually force me down to the ground, in position for her to deliver knees right to the face, there.
