It's also important for you as the professor, to shop around, and price textbooks. Don't just go with whatever is recommended to you. Shop around. There's fifteen different Public Speaking texts. Take a look at all of them, and then take a look at the prices of all of them. Which one is the best book? Well, this one's good, and this one is equally good, and there's a twenty dollar difference. Do your students a favor. If the books are comparable in material, in quality of material, go with the cheaper book, but it is up to you as the professor, to first find a good book, not just go with whatever. Whatever is recommended, whatever we've been using for the last twenty years, but find a good book that the students will want to spend the money on, and hang on to for a reference book, and then try to pick the one that's most reasonably priced, but still has the quality of information that you want.
