On behalf of expertvillage.com, I'm Mark Coy and we are now here with our leather hard stage of getting slightly dry. This is the stage where we would actually add handles on to our pot or spouts if it were a teapot. We would do any final trimming and possibly putting a foot into the bottom of the pot carving that in by putting it back on the wheel and turning it. That makes it more compatible with furniture. It is smaller, scuffed area; all those kinds of things. It also helps when we go to glazing our pots that with the little foot, we don't glaze the foot and that holds it up off our kiln shelf.
I don't know why they made this one. It's just him talking about the pieces and nothing about how to.
